Finally reopening commissions. I’d really appreciate any commissions I’m trying to save money to finally get my first car by the end of June and for uni in fall, work has really cut my hours I only work 8 hours this week. So any commissions are greatly welcomed, Thank you everyone so much!

Since the discussion of commenting on ao3 (or really any creative work) is going around, just a reminder that your comments don’t have to be this pristine pinnacle of human joy. You can just say “i want to eat this art” “i want this carved into my ribcage” etc etc. The intense and strange genuineness carries through - we understand that it moved you so deeply that you are experiencing a visceral love for it
And you don’t even have to say that!! You can literally just be like “<3” “i love this” “beautiful” etc etc. The fact you took a brief moment out of your day to comment at all means so much more than you can imagine
So yeah comment on shit that makes you happy or moves you in some way

Well, lately what helps me stay motivated is the Discord group I’m part of: Snuggly Cuddly Zone.
It is exactly what it says on the tin: a cuddly, snuggly zone where you can just vibe and talk to people. There’s even a sprint channel, where you can hit people up for sprints and share pieces of your writing/art that you’re proud/unsure of.
There’s no pressure to meet a deadline or a word count, but if you do set one for yourself, you have a whole crew that will cheer you on and hype you up!!
I love it so much. And it’s the reason that so many of my fics have even finished.
So, yeah. Get yourself a group of peeps you vibe with and you’ll find that it’s really easy to keep your motivation!! 😁😁😁😁

Derek knows that his situation is not one to complain about, that Lord Stilinski remembering Derek’s mother and not wanting her son to fall in favor simply because he was not there to protect their holdings was something that he should be grateful for. That the King calling him to war should have been an occasion to be celebrated, not for brigands to torch Hale Manor to ash and leave Derek an orphaned peasant.
All of this, Derek knows and has born with no compliant, happy to simply have been the Stilisnki’s stable boy and keep the Lord’s son from braining himself whenever he went riding. He would have passed his days thus had there not been a Lord that was set on Derek’s destruction.
Lord Argent had been making comments about Derek’s desirability, questioning whether it was wise for one that was cursed with such misfortune near Lord Stilinski’s son and only heir. Lord Stilinski had been calm and collected when Argent had been making those allegations in front of him, had thanked the Lord for his concern and merely stated that he was more than willing to court a bit of bad luck to care for the son of an old friend.
The problem escalated when Argent decided to air his rumors in front of Lord Stiles.
Part of Derek hates that Agent was anywhere near Stiles, that the Lord was allowed to spill his venom in the younger man’s ear, but there is also a part of him that is thankful that Stiles reacted so violently to the rumors, since they have all but disappeared since then.
Yet, that interaction is also the reason that Derek is where he is now…
Stiles, angered by Argent words and perhaps protective of Derek, had spat that there was nothing wrong with him and he was so assured of Derek’s past simply being a string of bad luck, that Stiles would marry him and join him to his own household if it came down to it.
Argent called his bluff and Stiles married Derek by the next fortnight.
The marriage was a lovely occasion, the binding kiss simple and brief(something that Derek had never thought his first kiss would be), Derek and Stiles only left alone when the evening began to fade into night.
It was then that Stiles apologized for taking advantage of Derek’s situation and assuring him that he was under no obligations to share a martial bed with him.
It was also when all of Derek’s hopes that this was merely an advantage for Stiles to finally marry him went out the window.
Derek had held affections for Lord Stiles ever since he came back from the war, saw that the boy he left had bloomed into a handsome man; all lean lines and quicksilver grins. It grew after the care Stiles took with him when Derek had found out about his family, and took root after all their afternoons together taking care of the Stilinski stables.
(Well, Derek took care of the stables and Stiles filled the air with every question and thought that passed through his mind.)
He had hoped that, after working for a few years, he would have enough money to rebuild Hale Manor and the land surrounding it, showing Lord Stilinski that he was a worthy candidate for his son’s hand.
It was a little disheartening to hear that the only reason he had been married was because Stiles had been backed into a corner…
Nevertheless, Derek knows his place and he can not turn away the kindness the Stilinskis have shown him, so he has held his tongue and kept his feelings close to his chest these long nights.
However, it is becoming harder and harder to do so as the days pass… especially days such as these.
Days where they are invited to other Lord’s holdings, with bored wives and husbands laughing at Stiles’ jokes, leaning into Stiles’ space, touching Stiles’ arms, shoulders, and back…
Snatching a flute of some drink or another from a passing tray, Derek watching as Stiles entertains a group of noblemen, drawing them all in with ease and delight, no doubt pleased to have someone to interact with other than a surly husband who was never found of parties to begin with-
“So you are the Hale husband I have been hearing so much about.”
Flinching, Derek turns to see the Lady Martin standing at his elbow, looking him over in a way that says she slightly impressed with what she’s seeing. “Well, it looks like Stiles has finally landed himself that Prince he was talking about…”
Derek wants to laugh at her words, but Stiles has asked that he try to be as courteous as possible at this party, since he and the Lady Martin are old friends. So, instead he simply states, “I am no Prince, my Lady. I am simply a stable boy who is gifted to call Lord Stiles my husband.”
A delicate brow raises on Lady Martin’s head, but she simply mutters, “Is that so…?” before snagging her own drink from a passing servant and settles next to where Derek is standing.
Talking meaning chatting online, interacting irl, or even exchanging one or two messages. I just want to see how much tumblr users actually talk to each other!

Hey, folks! I just had to quit my new job. Its “flexible hours” (a requirement for my physical disabilities) were actually over-managed deadlines that required a 7-day work week and it was untenable. So! As an income-less person, I’d like to put this out there:

Alpha reading is geared toward Zero Drafts or First Drafts where the creation process is still a work in progress. I’m reading as a writer who wants to help make your story work. As an alpha reader, I’m not worried about your grammar or spelling–just the content. My job is to cheerlead you through this first draft while giving helpful, gentle notes as a fellow writer. We’d nail down exactly what sort of comments you want or don’t want but it can look like feedback on:

Setting/world building

Spotting plot holes/continuity issues
You can also request no critique if what you really need is just someone who will read your draft, leave encouraging comments, and get excited with you.
Beta Reading
Beta reading is for more polished drafts from writers looking for constructive criticism on how their wip reads. I’m approaching your story less as a writer and more as your test audience. I will be honest but kind about issues and genuinely excited about your victories. Again, exactly what you’re looking for can be nailed down on an individual basis so you get the type of support you want. (Note: I am not a line editor. I can point out obvious errors but that is not what I do.)
As far as pricing, $0.0015 USD per word seems like the lower end of the industry standard and, while I have alpha/beta read before, I haven’t been paid for it yet so that feels fair. That works out to a 25K word story being $27.50.

This blog was inspired by a long, long defunct series of blogs on Livejournal, in which people could describe bits of nostalgia that they couldn’t quite remember the name of. Readers can comment if they remember the thing and reunite bits of lost media with those longing for them. Books, games, tv shows, songs, etc. all are fair game!
